Why I love reflexology and you should too!
Updated: Feb 19
Reflexology..... just even thinking about reflexology sessions makes me feel relaxed and this is exactly the same effect it has on my clients. To date nearly all my reflexology clients have drifted off into a peaceful sleep during their session and the other day my client, who had booked the "Sole to Soul Experience", a blissful combination of half an hour reflexology followed by half an hour of massage, mentioned that she found the reflexology more relaxing than the actual massage.
So what is reflexology and why does it have such an effect?
AOR Definition - "Reflexology is a non-intrusive complementary health therapy, based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body".
By applying specialised massage techniques to specific reflex points on the soles of the feet, the aim is to help restore balance to the body and improve overall well-being. Individual sessions may be adapted dependent upon the outcome of the consultation and afterwards I would discuss my findings with my client to see how the session was for them. I just love how reflexology is such a gentle treatment which suits most people, and the benefits are far reaching.
Reflexology Foot Map
If you look at the Reflexology Foot Map below you can see that areas on the feet relate to particular areas of the body.
During the session I start with a relaxing foot massage using specially formulated reflexology wax, the clients legs surrounded by bolsters and cushions, then apply specialised techniques to the areas of the feet and I like to finish the session with a relaxing foot/leg massage by which point my clients are so relaxed it seems a shame to end the session!
If you haven't yet had the pleasure of a relaxing reflexology session then give it a try - you may be pleasantly surprised! Taster sessions available from just £25 for half an hour. Fancy adding a massage to your session? Great, you can choose the Soul to Sole Experience and benefit from both reflexology and a relaxing back massage too - the perfect way to relax and switch off!
